Cartier Expands Its Panthère Watch Family With New Luxe Pieces

Cartier’s Panthère collection unveils new designs with textured gold, diamonds, and a larger model for wider wrists.

Cartier has long been renowned for its dual expertise in both watches and jewelry, and nowhere is this more evident than in the Panthère watch. A signature piece for the Parisian maison since the 1980s, the Panthère combines the elegance of a timepiece with the sensuality of jewelry. Rather than a direct figurative homage, it’s the watch’s sleek, flexible five-row chain bracelet that evokes the graceful movement of a panther in motion.

The Panthère is a lasting icon for Cartier, defined by signature design elements that have become synonymous with the brand: a sculpted case with exposed screws, a blue sapphire cabochon crown, and Roman numerals paired with the discreet ‘Cartier’ signature hidden within one. The rail track dial design further emphasizes its distinctive style.

This month, Cartier introduces an array of new variations that accentuate both the watch and jewelry aspects of the Panthère collection. On the jewelry side, two fresh variations emerge. One is exclusive to small models in yellow or rose gold, featuring textured gold accents that create an intriguing contrast with the polished finish. The grained golden dial complements the case and bracelet, while the textured links on the bracelet add further depth.

The second variation introduces a sparkling twist, with a square of diamonds set within the central grid of the dial. The diamonds offer a soft contrast to the silvered sunray-brushed dial, while gold-finished hands and numerals add warmth and elegance. These designs are available in both small and medium models.

The most significant update, however, comes in the form of a brand new large model, expanding the Panthère de Cartier’s appeal to larger wrists. With a case measuring 31mm by 42mm, this model retains the classic Panthère features—blued steel sword hands, Roman numerals, and a white dial—while offering options in full stainless steel, yellow gold, and two-tone steel and gold configurations.
